Riding a road bicycle

2019. 8. 18. Sunday. Relatively cool.

Like My brother and I agreed yesterday, we switched out cycle and went to ride today. My bicycle is hybrid which means it is between MTB and road bicycle. But my brother’s bicycle is road bicycle which is good for fast riding.

I have been expecting that if I ride a road bicycle I would be able to go much faster. We gave it a try yesterday at night shortly. I rode my brother’s bicycle and it wasn’t that much light than mine. I mean it was lighter than mine but not that much. Also the handle shape is totally different so It was little awkward to me.

Since yesterday night, I began to doubt that if I can go as fast as I want today. Anyway today early evening around 7 pm we went to ride to the usual course, minju park. At the very beginning my brother followed me quite well but soon enough he couldn’t. 😅 My bicycle is not for speed rather it is slow and easy. I kept riding fast. But because i wasn’t skilled at the new style of the bicycle, I could go fast enough. I was a little scared to go fast. Anyway I still had a good ride and I renewed my record slightly faster. If I get used to the road bicycle I think I can go faster than today.

**Today, one time, there was a dangerous moment. There was a car at the side of the road. I was going fast, and the car suddenly cut in ahead of me. I decelerated abruptly not to hit the car. Luckily I could stop my bicycle right ahead of the car. This happened because of the break. My break can decelerate quickly but this bicycle couldn’t. It was a close moments really. Always be safe**
